Natalie Mae

is a New Orleans-based indie-folk multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter. Raised in a small town in the Michigan countryside, she was born into a family of musicians and music educators, and moved to New Orleans in 2005 to study piano and music business. There she fell in love with the culture and soul of the South. Since releasing her debut album “Waiting on You” in 2009, Natalie Mae has released two more full-length albums: “More Than You Know” (2012), which was nominated for a New Orleans OffBeat Award for Best Country/Folk/Americana Album, and “Run to You” (2017). She plays often with various projects in New Orleans, including the old-time group Get Up Rounder with fiddler Emolyn Liden, indie-folk-pop duo The RamBull Rompers (www.rambullrompers.com) with drummer-singer/songwriter Rose Cangelosi, and most recently as keyboardist in Fantasy NonFiction. Today her sound is built on a combination of her folk upbringing and her beloved New Orleans home, playing and writing on guitar, banjo, piano, and on special occasions the ukulele. She blends intricate melodies with dynamic and relatable lyrics that evoke vivid memories and warm the heart. Natalie Mae performs regularly year-round in New Orleans and the greater Gulf Coast, and frequents the Midwest when the weather beckons her to cooler winds.
